From Ashes to Acorns:
Dr. Kyle Maxwell wasn't just buying a pharmacy when he acquired Lakeside in 2018. He was adopting a community pulse, a beating heart of trust and care nestled within the storefront. But fate, as it often does, threw a curveball. In July 2020, a neighboring fire's flames turned dreams into ashes.

For most, this would have been an end. But for Kyle, it was a crucible. The outpouring of community grief, and the desperate need for familiar, reliable healthcare, sparked a phoenix from the ashes. Kyle refused to let Lakeside's legacy perish.Listening to the community who needed not just medication, but the warmth, the knowledge, and the sense of belonging that Lakeside embodied, Kyle rebuilt.

Lakeside rose anew. It opened its doors once more, a testament to Kyle's dedication and the unyielding spirit of the community. But Lakeside wasn't just rebuilt; it was reinvented. From consultations on medications to virtual NP visits, and more Lakeside became a beacon of well-being.
But Kyle's heart, ever attuned to the community's rhythm, heard another calling. He understood the growing need for convenient healthcare beyond Lakeside's reach. So, in February 2024, a new acorn sprouts: Mountainside Pharmacy. Nestled amidst the foothills of Stowe, VT. Mountainside continues to carry the legacy of Lakeside, offering the same warmth, care, and expertise to a new corner of the community.
Dr. Kyle Maxwell's story is not just about rebuilding a pharmacy. It's about weaving himself into the tapestry of the community, becoming more than just a pharmacist – a friend, a confidante, a guardian of health. It's about listening to the softest echoes of need, transforming them into pillars of care. It's about reminding us that even from ashes, resilience, and a touch of magic, can grow something truly remarkable.

Meet Our Pharmacists
Pictured: Dr. Kyle Maxwell RPh, PharmD & Michayla Maxwell APRN on the day they purchased Lakeside Pharmacy in Burlington in November of 2018. On July 1, 2020 a fire at a neighboring business forced the closure of the pharmacy. Renovations were completed late Summer 2021. The new and improved Lakeside Pharmacy would open later that Fall.
Kyle Maxwell is a Doctor of Pharmacy who prides himself on his interpersonal skills and love for community pharmacy. Hailing from Boston, MA where he earned his doctorate at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, the second oldest institute for pharmacy education, Kyle moved to Vermont to pursue his passions. Apart from the love of his profession, Kyle enjoys the great outdoors; hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, and snowboarding. When Kyle is not working, he will surely be outdoors doing something, usually alongside his wife Michayla and his dog, Deacon. Michayla and Kyle welcomed their son Harrison to the world October of 2021 and daughter Wren in October 2023. Kyle is quite knowledgeable in all things pharmaceutical whether it be over-the-counter medicine, diet and exercise, or questions about insurance. Kyle is a certified immunizer, so whether you need an annual flu shot or are not sure which vaccines you need updated. Kyle will be there for you and family.

"Sunny Hanna is a Doctor of Pharmacy who received his doctorate from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, MA. From there, he pursued education and worked as a medical assistant instructor, teaching students general medication knowledge and administration techniques. After years of teaching, he returned to the pharmacy practice and found himself in Vermont at the end of 2023, where he quickly fell in love with the state. When Sunny is not behind the pharmacy counter, he would spend his time at home working on content creation and hosting collaboration events, including a podcast series. Otherwise he would be experimenting on different recipes, from various cultural-themed cuisines to show-inspired dishes. So whether you have questions on your medications, immunizations, or just a foodie's recommendation, Sunny will be there for you and your family."
